When it comes to living a life debt free, there are many ways in which a person can change their day to day events in order to save money to pay off debt with. Everyone is different but debt is debt. There are many different types of debt, but no matter what your situation may be, you will want to asses yourself and your own personal financial attitude. This debt quiz will only take you moments to finish. Be honest and you will find many facts that could change your attitude towards becoming debt free.

  1. I consider myself debt free when:

  1. I do not owe anyone anything.

  2. I do not owe anyone, except for a mortgage and a car loan.

  3. I could pay off my credit card debts at any time.

  4. I am currently making all my minimum monthly payments when they are due.

2. If one of my friends told me that they had several credit cards with a zero

balance, I would feel that my friend was:

  1. A much disciplined person financially speaking.

  2. I would ask them for some tips on finances.

  3. He was a dull person who was no fun.

  4. Wasting their credit that was unused.

  1. My personal bill paying system is to:

     a.  Have a seat each weekend and pay what bills I have due with the next 10

days.

     b.  Take a look at the stack of bills every few days and pay any that are past due.

     c. Wait until a couple of days before the 10 day grace period is up before I pay. 

     d.  Pay a bill when the creditor or bill company calls me wondering where the

          payment is.

  1. When I feel that I am having financial problems, I typically:

    1. Curtail my spending and stay away from charging items on my credit cards.

    2. Get a part time job to eliminate my debt.

    3. Use my credit cards and not get upset.

    4. Depend on a friend or family to get me out of trouble financially.

  2. When I find that I need to purchase a large appliance I:

    1. Take a look at my budget to see if I have the money to buy the item with cash or figure a time when I can buy it with cash.

    2. Take a look at my budget to make certain I can afford payments on the item if I by it with credit.

    3. Head to the store where I want to get the item from and purchase it.

    4. Go to the first location closest to my house without checking prices.

  3. I pay off my credit card balances:

    1. Every month when the statement arrives.

    2. Every 2 or 3 months.

    3. Maybe twice a year.

    4. I never do.

  4. When I go to buy a new car I usually:

    1. Trade in my existing auto, and put a large down payment towards a

                    3-year car loan.

               b.   Trade in my existing car and get a 5-year loan for the remainder due.

               c.   Lease a car.

               d.  Trade in my existing auto, which is worth less than I still owe on it, and   

                    roll over the balance into my new 6 year car loan.

         

  1. I think that using the services of a financial help service:

    1. A great way to learn how to accomplish my financial debt free goals.

    2. Is alright fro people who have complicated financial situations.

    3. I would use if I ad more time on my hands.

    4. Is only a good idea for people with a lot of money.

  2. When looking at my credit report and I find an error

    1. Contact the credit bureau at once to dispute it.

    2. I wait until I have some extra time to make the call.

    3. Order my report again to see if it still shows after one year.

    4. Forget about it because I have no control over this.

  3.  I feel good about my finances when:

    1. I have a good job, savings, a retirement plan that is gaining worth, and

good insurance coverage.

    1. I have a good job.

    2. I have enough money to pay my monthly bills.

    3. I am able to get approved for credit for a new automobile.
