Getting control of bad credit history (part 3)

Assuming you have read both part 1 one and part 2 on how to get control of your past bad credit standing…

There are other things for you to consider doing when looking to repair your credit standing too. Be sure to make all of your bill payments on time each month or whenever they are due. If you are able to show lenders that you have stable income along with payment regularity, this can help fix bad credit in as little as 2 or 3 years. Another great way to eliminate bad credit and start living a debt free life is get rid as many credit cards as you can. Doing so will help you stop your extra spending. Never make bankruptcy an option. Steer clear of tax liens and collections at all costs. These actions will not fix your credit whatsoever. If possible, try getting a family member or good friend to co-sign a small loan in order to pay past debts off. By doing this, you will pay off the old debt that many times carries a hefty interest rate and get a new monthly payment that has a lower rate and you will be on your way to getting back on track. Just be certain to pay the new loan on time and even try to pay extra on top to get out of debt quicker.

Another positive way to fix bad credit is to make positive reports to your credit history. Several ways of doing this is to open a new savings account at your bank. If possible, get a low interest credit card and sustain a low balance on it. This is not easy if your current credit is in bad standing, but maybe you can get a co-signer on this. Another great way to make a positive impact on your current credit standing is to get a home equity loan and use the money you get to pay off all of your old debts.

While we completely realize that most people with bad credit are not usually in the position to pay off al their old debts in order to get better current credit – there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Getting back on track will not come overnight unless you just got a boat load of money from somewhere. Repairing credit takes time, but the amount off effort you pour into repairing your credit will make your life much easier and is so worth while. You will certainly not get anywhere by paying the minimum monthly payments you have on high interest credit cards, but you can achieve higher credit rating by making a plan and sticking to it. Curtail your spending. Live within your personal means and the rest will come in time.

This article has outlined some very good ways to get your credit rating back in control. By following the recommendations we listed and explained fro you in this detailed three part article, you will be on your way to having a good credit report and living a debt free life.
