Getting control of bad credit history (part
2)
Assuming you read part 1, here is
the next step for you to consider when getting control of
your person credit standing…
An
additional smart move on your part to get control of your
credit standing would be to get a copy of your actual
current credit report. Getting your hands on a copy of your
credit report is not only something everyone should do, but
it is a positive step to make for those who have problem
credit. Once you have a look at the report, you will be able
to determine exactly what companies are reporting about you,
but you will know the details of what they are reporting.
Getting your credit report is very easy and it is a valuable
way to give you information about your credit and let you
know exactly what position you are in. To get a copy of your
credit report, you just need to contact the three credit
bureaus. They are Equifax, Experian and Trans Union. Ask
them for your credit score. You will find that in many
cases, wrong or improperly dated information has been
reported to your credit report that further damages your
score. If you find untrue data in your credit report,
contact the credit bureau in writing at once – without
delay. Update the credit bureau as to your issue and
basically command recourse. You will see many websites that
provide free credit reports to you, just be aware of any
requirements you may have to achieve to get it free and
clear.
Now,
the best way to expunge bad credit is to pay off all your
outstanding debts and become debt free. We completely
understand that this is much easier said than actually
accomplished. Really, if you had the money to pay off these
debts, you would most likely not be in the situation that
gave you past credit problems in the first place. Alas,
there are other effectual ways that will lead you to become
a debt free person with good credit standing.
First
of all and most important, you have to create a personal
budget. The best and most efficient way to make a budget is
for you to sit down and write out a complete list of your
personal expenses. This detailed list you create has to
contain every cost you incur in your daily and monthly
living. Once you have the list containing your bills,
expenses such as gas and more, compare it to your income –
the actual amount of money you bring home monthly. Then,
compare this list to your income. If you find that the
expenses on your budget list are more than your income is,
you are going to have to cut back on expenses in any way you
can. For instance, cook at home instead of eating out.
