First off, here is a little secret that even the richest of the richest practice. Pay yourself first. Set aside a small amount (or whatever you can afford) of your paycheck and pay yourself. Think of yourself as a bill just like your mortgage and cable bill. In the beginning, start out small. Whatever you can afford - put it aside. The best place to keep this money that you pay to yourself each month is to deposit it into the highest interest paid account that you can get. In the beginning, until you amass enough to put into an IRA or CD, put the money at least into an interest baring saving account at your bank. You can even have this money directly deposited from your paychecks. Using yourself as a bill is a great way to manage your assets. Make your money earn.
