Is it Wise Not to Use Credit Cards?
When the economy tanked everyone got worried about their credit
card use. Many people stopped using theirs altogether, and many
sought out debt consolidation loans as they thought that this
would be their cure all. However, for those people that are
responsible with their credit card debt, getting rid of all of
your cards is not necessarily a good idea. If you are
irresponsible then by all means make sure that you get rid of
your cards and get a debt consolidation to pay off your existing
debt.
However, there are many people that are looking to make a
larger, or more expensive purchase with their money and a credit
card might be the way to go – especially if you can afford it.
You can use your credit card to purchase a television or high
end electronic type machine, and with the use of that credit
card you are looking at an additional bonus that you don’t get
from paying cash – insurance.
Most credit cards offer insurance of some kind on purchases that
are made with their card. They offer damage on the purchase, or
if the item is stolen within a particular time period, or even
on some cards if you see it cheaper at another place after you
pay for it. These are all incentives to get you to use their
card to pay for something. So you purchase your item and then
pay it off of your card with the cash – you still get the
protection and then you aren’t worried.
