Consumers’ Troubles May be Turning Around
According to Consumer Reports, the economy may be turning
around. They say that consumers are having an easier time
dealing with their bills, and that financial difficulties have
dropped. They said that medical payments and negative changes to
credit card debt accounts have both dropped, meaning that more
people are paying their bills. According to the study, 10.4% saw
their interest rates or penalty fees increase over the month,
which is down from the 12.1% that said the same thing in the
beginning of April.
Only 8.7% said that they did not pay a major bill, not including
mortgage payments, and 7.9% said that they faced reduced medical
coverage. The firm said that they are starting to see “modest
improvements” which is a very good sign for consumers. The
economy is not going to bounce back overnight, but with some
time and patience we might be able to get ourselves on top
again.
However, for those that are still suffering difficulties it can
be tough knowing what to do. This is where a debt consolidation
can help. If you are facing many credit card and/or medical
bills, you might want to consider a debt consolidation to put
them all into one bill. This one bill would then reduce the
amount of money that they are paying on interest rates and late
fees, and over limit fees. These are things that can all add to
the length of time it takes to pay back your bills. Instead, get
a debt consolidation and pay back your bills in a shorter period
of time, and for less money.
