Minimum Credit Scores for Help
Some people wonder what credit scores you need to get a debt
consolidation, and if they will even qualify for one. It is
really up to the lender whether or not they will give you a debt
consolidation loan based on your credit score. Some banks are
more lenient as they understand that it is quite often the
person with the lowest credit score that needs the assistance,
instead of the person with perfect credit. This is not to say
that you won’t pay dearly for having a poor credit score, but
this may still be better than what you are looking at on your
credit cards.
Each lender will have a different debt consolidation application
process. Some take many things into consideration when
determining eligibility – while others are focused on the credit
score and not much else. Mostly they know that if you are
looking for a debt consolidation, that you are probably serious
about paying back your debt, and that you are looking for a
simpler way of doing that. Many lenders are not going to give a
debt consolidation to someone they consider risky – while others
are not as concerned with that requirement.
If you have poor credit and are looking for a debt
consolidation, you need to go online and see what the various
banks are offering. Some of them will be offering a debt
consolidation, but with a very high interest rate so you have to
be careful. You want one that is willing to give you the debt
consolidation that is at a rate lower than what you are
currently paying, so that you can compile your bills into one
easier loan.
As with each of these debt consolidation loans, there will be a
minimum that they cannot go beyond, so if you are truly in the
pile with your credit score you might want to try and bring it
up before applying for the debt consolidation loan. This way you
stand to get a better deal with terms that are easier to live
with.
