Debt Relief
Programs
There are many programs out there that will tell you that they
can get you debt relief. Some of them really can, and then some
simply want to sell you a load of goods. You have to be smart
about who you give your personal information to as it will come
back to bite you later on. Get recommendations from friends and
the Better Business Bureau to find out who is right for you.
There are some that are free, some that charge based on what you
owe, and others that charge based on the amount of money you
make on a sliding scale. There are some that just charge a flat
fee as well no matter how much debt you have.
A debt relief program will help you decide what to do about your
debt. It will help you create a budget and show you how to stick
to it. It will go over your finances to see where you can cut
corners and where your danger areas are. If you need a debt
settlement or negotiation they will help with that. If you are
looking at a debt consolidation they can often help with that as
well. They are usually the best place to go to in order to get
assistance with the debt that you have compiled. Remember though
that some of these debts are easier to take care of then others
and you have to be patient that they know what they are doing.
Some of the things you choose will have a negative impact on
your score - like negotiation, settlement or bankruptcy. Others
will not impact your score at all if you are smart about
handling them – like debt consolidation.
