Credit Card
Balances Dropping
Whenever you hear the reports that credit card balances are
dropping, there are a couple of things going on behind the
picture. You have those people who are actively working to
resolve their credit card issues and those that have resolved
them one way or the other. Some of this drop in credit card
balances has to do with people paying off their credit cards.
Then there are those that have declared bankruptcy so their
cards are also clear, but this is a negative way of taking care
of your debt.
There are some that have paid off their cards through the use of
debt consolidation, which seems to be the most popular method as
of late to take care of multiple credit card bills. It is an
easy way of freeing up some extra money each month, and it is a
great way to pay back less than what you owe. You simply put all
of your credit card debts into one debt consolidation loan and
now you have one payment each month. You use the money from the
debt consolidation loan to pay off eaerything else, and since
you have a lower interest rate you pay back less than what you
would have had you left it with the credit card companies.
You can use this extra money in a couple of different ways – you
can pay down the debt consolidation loan even faster or you can
use that money to start a savings account. There is one other
method of reducing credit card debt – and that is to get a debt
consolidation with a settlement as well. This way you reduce the
amount of money that you owe and still pay them back something.
