Fuel Leads to Debt
Rising gas prices are hurting our nation and many don’t realize the toll that it is taking on our country. The higher fuel goes, the more people are paying for it, thus taking money from other areas of their lives.
According to National Energy Action, more than four million households are spending more than 10% of their household income on fuel. This is making them what is now being referred to as “fuel poverty.”
Debt consolidation can help many of those out there that are seeking some relief from their newfound poverty. Even in households that were making their bills, skyrocketing fuel prices have put a nasty bite into their comfort zone as well.
Debt consolidation companies say that they are seeing even more applications these days as people just don’t have the disposable income that they used to have and are finding it harder and harder to make their monthly bills.
The UK government is taking steps to relieve some of that burden by looking into programs that will help with debt consolidation and energy efficient means of lessening their bills. With so many dependent on fuel to heat their homes, they are getting themselves into a hole that they just can’t find their way out of.
