When you find that your expenses are greatly outpacing your income, you have many options to you – including seeking debt consolidation assistance. There are many companies out there that will assist you, sometimes for a fee, in getting your head above water. They can help you with a budget, or even act as a liaison between yourself and the companies you currently owe.

However, with the good, there is always the bad. Some companies that offer this service charge exorbitant amounts to assist you in your time of need, and others are just plain predators. There are scam artists out there that will seem to assist you and then end up getting you further in debt by ripping you off.

There are many debt consolidation companies out there, do your research and go with a company that has a proven track record of assisting others out of debt as well. There are genuine caring people out there who really do want to see you succeed.  ■
