They work with them to come up with a plan that will enable them to get debt free in a shorter period of time, and they help them come up with a budget so that they do not get into debt again.
 
But then there are those that are not interested in helping you, more they are interested in helping themselves. They are determined to get your personal information and your bank accounts, and what not and then they steal your identity. Be careful who you go with as it will make all the difference in the world.
