Bad Economy Means More Problems
for Consumers
In this day and age, you would think that the companies that are
being hit by the economy the worst would find ways of making
themselves more consumer friendly so that they could reap the
rewards. However, some companies have decided to go the other
direction, almost driving their consumers into the arms of their
competitors. Time and time again you will see these companies
starting to charge for things that they did not charge for
before – or they are raising prices on things that were already
an item.
American Airlines announced that they were raising the amount of
money that they were charging for checked luggage for their
clients. If you fly American Airlines you will pay $25 for the
first piece and $35 for the second. Well, just as they did that,
several other airlines announced that they were going to either
drop their fees substantially or all together – thereby taking
AA’s business away from them for those customers that check
baggage.
Credit card companies are also lowering the amount of credit
that they are giving their customers. This not only hurts the
credit scores of their clients, but if they are near the top of
their limit it also costs them in over limit fees. This is a
good time to look into a debt consolidation loan for these
people as they are not going to want to pay the fees that the
credit card companies are going to try and get away with.
