What You Do Affects Your Debt
Interestingly enough, how you handle your finances has a lot to
do with what you do for a living. There are many jobs out there
that you have to have your credit run for you to be able to work
there, and if you have a black mark on your credit you can
forget about it for many. There are some jobs in the military
that need certain clearances and if you have declared bankruptcy
you are not eligible for that clearance and cannot hold that
position. Many law enforcement jobs are the same way.
There is a stigma attached to debt that many corporations think
that if you cannot handle your debt and your finances then you
cannot handle the position that you are applying for. They feel
that there is a lack of responsibility somehow linked to your
debt and how you choose to pay it off. That is why if you are
looking at getting into any profession that requires a clean
credit check – you have to take steps to ensure that you pass
that credit check. You need to look at your options, and one of
the first should be a debt consolidation loan. A debt
consolidation will help you get back on track with your debt and
help you earn a position of respect in the work place.
Do not look into a debt consolidation with a settlement option
however, as that would still damage your credit, leaving you
without a clean record – which is what you need to get the
positions that need a clean bill of debt.
