Governmental Assistance?
There are several companies out there now trying to give options to those that have found themselves in too much debt. They offer help to those that are in over their heads and give them options to working towards maintaining a debt free lifestyle.
You hear the various companies touting debt consolidation, home equity loans personal loans, etc. in order to get out of debt. Now you are hearing a new claim – governmental grants.
There are many options available to most people but the claims that the government is going to give you free money to pay off your debt is not usually one of them. The grants that the government is talking about are usually geared toward a specific thing, and not for just paying off your debt.
There are grants for things like opening a small business, or buying your first home. But there aren’t debts that will simply get you debt free. Now, if you open a small business with the idea that it will help get you out of debt, then there is some truth to the matter. But simply applying grants to those with debt – they just don’t exist.
Now, you may find someone in the private sector looking to give away money – perhaps a philanthropic company that wants to see everyone debt free. You could look onto that, but it seems that your chances would still be somewhat slim considering taking care of your personal debt does not really seem like something a large corporation would necessarily want to do.
Anyone who is interested in getting free money to pay off their bills will probably have to keep looking. With the government looking to pay off their own bills, there isn’t much of a chance that they are going to pay off yours as well.
