Buying a home is a scary prospect. It is such a large purchase that many people get overwhelmed just thinking of it. Then factor in the idea that you have to come up with a pretty substantial down payment, as well as papers to sign, contracts to enter into – it can become a very overpowering experience.
However, the good folks at a place called Consumer Debt Solutions (CDS) are trying to come up with ways to make it a little easier on most home buyers. They have come up with an idea called the Home Grants Program. Through this program, they provide grants to first time home buyers up to $10,000 that do not have to be paid back. This money can be used to cover the down payment and the closing costs for eligible FHA loans.
Once approved for a loan, the buyer finds a home that meets the programs requirements. Then the funds are wired to the title or escrow company and the home buyer is able to close on their home. If interested, contact the Consumer Debt Solutions Program, you can even apply online. ■
