How to Get Debt Free
There are ways of getting debt free and taking care of the debt
that you already have. The first thing you want to do is look at
the mortgage that you have. Do you have good terms on it? Is the
interest rate high? If you have a great loan for your house
don’t touch it, but if you have a higher interest rate on it you
might want to look at refinancing it so that you have a lower
rate – and thus end up paying less for your house than you would
have if you had just left it with the current loan.
Another option is to get rid of your credit card and medical
debt. You can get a debt consolidation which will lump all of
that together for a lower interest rate, thus saving yourself
money each month. This combined with the absence of late and
over limit fees will enable you to pay down your debt faster
than if you were paying the credit card companies their interest
and fees.
Once you have the debt consolidation use that money to pay off
all f your credit cards and this will help you get debt free
faster. This debt consolidation will be paid back on a monthly
basis, but the credit cards that you have just paid off need to
go away. If you think you are responsible enough, keep one for
emergencies but get rid of the rest.
Now you should have your monthly bills like electric, etc., you
should have your debt consolidation, and you should have your
mortgage. Once you pay off one or the other use that money to
pay off the other bill. It is more likely going to be your debt
consolidation that you pay off before your mortgage because it
is a lesser term than the other – but even still take that money
and put it toward your mortgage. Wouldn’t it be nice to live in
a home that you actually owned?
