| Debt Free News Debt news: Budgets are vital to debt free success January 15, 2007 Many US citizens these days are turning to credit cards to pay regular bills. This is a sure sign of high credit card debt. If you want to steer clear of debt consolidation loans and unnecessary debt in general, you must stick to a household budget – one that is obtainable too. According to debt free advocates, budgets are the only way to remain stable when it comes to debt. Anyone can make a budget – but it seems not everyone can stick to it. Why ids that? According to debt free advocates, peer pressure to consume is a huge part of it. Just watch TV for a few moments and you will see a commercial telling you about some product you cannot due without. Talk you the guy in the next cubicle next to yours at work and you will here about the next piece of electronics you cannot do without. But the truth be told – if you have too much debt – you can do without if your home is filled with the latest and greatest devices known to man. Statistics show that an overwhelming part of US consumer debt is unnecessary. So the necessary debt goes unpaid. Medical care is the top reason why some bills are not getting paid these days in US households. According to statistics, credit card debt is loaded with unneeded charges so when a needed charge takes place – it puts the typical consumer over the top of affordability. These days, these are the exact consumers who just cannot stretch their income far enough. Why – they cannot steer clear of spending – consuming. To live debt free is virtually impossible for these poor souls. They pay so much interest that they cannot see the end of the tunnel. The I can pay the minimum amount due each month mentality is not hitting Middle America where it hurts according to record amounts of US consumer credit card debt reports. Can we stop spending? No, the economy would not like us to that is for sure. Many US consumers say they just do not make enough money to support the daily needs they have. Well, in all honesty, it is not the earnings that are causing this massive amount of consumer debt that leads to debt consolidation and more – it is the insatiable need to consume unneeded supplies in general. Most people make enough (baring lower class consumers without credit) to live on. But when they add to their bills by charging items – they go too far. Hate to break it to you, but it's not your salary that's to blame. According to financial experts, it's a pattern of poor spending choices. Maybe this country needs a stiff lesson in budgeting. Maybe spending is what makes this economy what it is. Yes, it is all true, but reports are going to keep escalating if consumer credit card debt is not dealt with on a government level soon. Laws must be passed that curtail spending on the consumer level soon. Either that or interest rate swill become completely unbearable. (521) |
