BBB Warnings
The Better Business Bureau of Memphis, Tennessee, wants to warn
consumers about the risk in getting involved with a less than reputable
debt consolidation company. They say that there are those out there that
might offer debt consolidation but what they are really offering is a
chance to take your money, your personal information, and anything else
they can get their hands on.
The BBB has seen a run on illegal or substandard debt consolidation
companies as of late because of the problems with the economy. They say
that whenever there is any kind of trouble the problem is that there are
vultures who will prey on those who are needing help instead of helping
those in need.
They want consumers to take their advice and do their due diligence when
it comes to debt consolidation companies. They say that they should
check with their chapter of the BBB and they should check with people
who have used these types of services to see if they can make a
recommendation. They are worried that more people will be taken by these
scam artists.
They say that they should not give any debt consolidation company any
money until they see results and if they are put on a payment plan for
their debts they should pay directly, not through a third party. They
say that they have had some complaints about a company called Commercial
Solutions Consulting Agency who was taking people for money, but they
are now unable to locate them. They say that companies like this are
commonplace these days and that consumers should be wary.
