There is a big secret that you should know that pertains to debt
consolidation. There are many of these debt consolidation
companies popping up all over the place – and it seems that
every time you turn around there is a new one on the television
or radio announcing that they can get you debt free. They say
that they can cut your bills in half or even up to 75% off – in
some cases they can remove them completely!!
Now anyone with any sense knows that you didn’t get into debt
overnight, so it is going to take a little more than a quick
phone call to get it removed. So you can look to the debt
consolidation companies who are so quick to remove all that debt
– but really what they are talking about you can do on your own.
And the ones that are promising to remove your debt completely
are probably suggesting bankruptcies.
Simply put, add up how much you have in debt. Go to the bank.
Take out a debt consolidation loan, and use that money to pay
down your debts. The new payment should be less than what you
have been paying for all of your bills combined and you can now
spend the next three years paying off that debt consolidation
loan. Or, if that still is not enough to help you out, you can
call your creditors, let them know that you cannot afford your
bills and see what they will settle for. Once you have that
amount, go to your bank, take out a debt consolidation loan and
pay back the creditors what they have agreed to take and then
pay down the loan. It really is that simple. They aren’t doing
anything that you cannot do yourself.
