Is Credit Counseling Really Effective?
So there are things that you need to know when you are
considering bringing in a debt consolidation program to your
life. You have to think about the way that it will affect your
credit, you have to think about how it might help you, etc. But
there are some that are saying that the whole idea of debt
consolidation is being misrepresented. They say that the debt
consolidation industry is trying to make it look like there is
more to it than there is and with so many people still declaring
bankruptcy it would appear that it is not all that effective.
According to a recent study, 1.6 million people are in the
process of declaring bankruptcy. This means that with this many
people still filing, there are one of two things going on.
Either the debt consolidation process is not working, or people
are not taking advantage of it the way that they should be. The
debt consolidation industry says that consumers are not doing
what they could be doing to take care of their financial
problems, while those opposed to the debt consolidation industry
say that they are full of hot air. Many in our government are
saying that they are starting to think that the debt
consolidation industry is not doing what they have set out to
do, and that perhaps it needs to be more closely regulated so
that there is less of a disparity between what should be
happening and what is happening.
