Don’t Be Bullied By
Collectors
There are debt collectors out there that will use every trick in
and out of the book to get you to pay your debt. Now, for those
people that have the ability to pay down their debt and simply
choose not to – well, we don’t have too much sympathy for them.
However, for those people that are unable to pay it becomes a
very scary and stressful situation that they are unable to come
out of. They are afraid to answer their phone because they
cannot afford the payments that they are going to want them to
make, and they tire of explaining that they have no money over
and over again.
With this in mind, it becomes difficult to know who is for real
and who is not, and what they can and cannot say to you over the
phone. They cannot threaten legal action unless they actually go
through with it, they cannot garnish your wages without a court
order, they cannot take your home, your car, etc. without more
legal action being involved and that is only if your home and
your car were used as collateral. You are not going to go to
jail, and you are not going to be arrested in any form because
you have not paid. We no longer have debtors prisons in this
country.
But you might want to look into something like a debt
consolidation if you think that you can pay your bills if they
were just a little lower. A debt consolidation loan can take all
of your bills and put them into one loan, thus making your life
a whole lot easier. The choice is yours, but if you are being
harassed and bullied by your creditors you need to report them
because it just isn’t legal.
