Military
Personnel Can Get Consumer Counseling
The problem is that many of our service personnel had a life
before they joined the military, or before they were called up
to go. People like the reserves that were here, working really
good jobs, and not really expecting to be gone for any amount of
time. They have families and bills and responsibilities that
were fine as long as they were working at their jobs.
But then they got called up for service and while they are
defending their country, their country is taking away their
homes, harassing their wives or husbands for payment on bills
that they can no longer afford because they are overseas. These
are the people that we need to be taking care of, because they
are most certainly taking care of us.
This is why debt consolidation and credit counseling can work
wonders for our military personnel. Quite often they will be
able to put them on a plan that will help them while they are
overseas. According to the American Forces Press Service,
military personnel need to ask as soon as they can for help when
they realize that they are in trouble. They have a number of
free programs out there that can help them get financial
counseling and get control of their finances whether they are
still overseas or if they are back and facing this dilemma.
They recommend that they check into the Military One Source
program, or the financial advisors that are located on each base
to see how they might assist them in making their bills and
their problems go away.
