Debt Relief for Homeowners
There are many people out there today who are simply drowning in debt.
They are over extended on mortgages, car payments, credit card bills,
etc. and don’t know where to turn for help. They are finding themselves
in over their heads and are slowly not being able to pay one thing after
another – which is leading to an insane amount of stress for those
facing the situation.
But some communities are working hard to change that for them. They are
coming up with plans to help with debt consolidations, settlements, and
everything in between to see how many of their residents they can help
out of this mess, and how many they can assist with keeping their homes.
Wayne County has one of those programs. They have come together to help
people under their Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention Program where they
are trying to keep as many residents in their homes as possible. So far
the program has enabled more than a thousand people to stay in their
homes through help from the county.
The program has proved to be so popular that they have just opened a
second location in Southgate to help the people closer to that area as
well. They say that last year they had more than 38,000 homes in
foreclosure and this year they expect more. They know that now, more
than ever, they need to embrace their residents and show them a way out
of the hole that they have climbed into.
In many cases it is simply talking to someone on their behalf, sometimes
it is lowering an interest rate – but they don’t rest until they have
exhausted all efforts to keep their residents in their home.
